J.P.Walters Design is Awarded ASID Excellence
James Patrick Walters' Timeless Modern design style is recognized with two ASID Design Excellence Awards, garnering First Place Residential Design and Best In Show.
SAN DIEGO, CA, May 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On May 12th, Jim Walters of J.P.Walters Design Associates was honored by the San Diego chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers at their 2010 Design Excellence Awards gala. Jim was awarded First Place Residential honors for his interior design of the townhouse of Jonni Johnson and Charlie Huxford in the Bayside at the Embarcadero. This three level / three bedroom / three bath urban family home was additionally honored with ASID's award for Best in Show.
The project's challenge to maximize storage and seating was solved through the designer's site-specific custom cabinetry and custom furniture. Architectural light boxes and a floating sail chandelier were added to encourage visual exploration of the home's soaring ceiling heights
The designer's nature-inspired scheme expertly incorporates the client's' artwork, which includes a collection of Buddha statues, two John Lennon Portraits, and the framed lyrics to Lennon's Imagine. The result is an organic modern haven where Buddha meets the Beatles.
