HOUSTON, TX, March 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Taylor Morrison, one of the nation's most awarded builders for design quality and success in the marketplace, chose the sales models for Avalon at Telfair based on their ability to satisfy an ever growing market--multigenerational families. What makes the Tuscany and Marseille models spot-on multigenerational designs are private Adult Suites or Casitas on the first floor, ideally suited for both young adults, older family members and/or extended visitors.

Taylor Morrison will offer a variety of plans priced from the $400,000s to over $1 million on 70-, 80- and 90-ft. home sites in Avalon at Telfair in Sugar Land. The Tuscany and Marseille models will begin construction in Telfair's model home park by the first part of April and will grand open June 19. Located in Sugar Land at U.S. 59 and University Blvd., Telfair is in the top-rated Fort Bend Independent School District. Presale opportunities are anticipated for May.

The Adult Suite in the Marseille model is situated at the front of the home away from the Master Suite and active living areas. The Adult Suite has a private entrance from its own one-car garage. The bedroom and full bath with a walk-in closet are about 234 square feet. For families that prefer additional living space in the Adult Suite, the Marseille also offers an option whereby the one car garage can be converted into a full second master suite area which is approximately 271 square feet providing some additional space. The Marseille has approximately 4,050 square feet total.

"I didn't live at home as a twenty-something but I would have loved the Adult Suite in the Marseille. Just upstairs is a game/theatre room. The suite has privacy, space and access," said Amy Haywood vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison's Houston division. The Adult Suite in the Tuscany model has a Casita design; a courtyard walkway joins the suite to its one car garage. The bedroom and full bath with walk-in closet are about 330 square feet. The total plan has approximately 4,513 square feet.

"The Tuscany is a great fit for all family types and offers even more flexibility with its independent design. A large central courtyard separates the Casita from the main house offering a little more privacy and separation in addition to outdoor living space. Also, it would make a fantastic home office or creative studio," said Haywood. "The master suite is bigger than some apartments with its sitting room, powder and full bath and adjoining study. It even features a morning terrace. The Tuscany has lots of space for everyone." One final unique feature in the Tuscany is a second catering kitchen located in the utility rooms which are designed for various styles of living.

Avalon at Telfair is the third Avalon branded community for Taylor Morrison. Avalon at First Colony in Sugar Land and Avalon at Seven Meadows in Katy were developed by Taylor Woodrow LP who merged with Morrison Homes in 2007 forming Taylor Morrison. Avalon at Telfair is being developed by Taylor Morrison in partnership with Newland Communities; 270 home sites which will be developed over the next three years.

According to Steve Von Hofe, president of Taylor Morrison's Houston Division, the master plan for Avalon at Telfair includes lakes, a park, walking trails and two monument entrances fronting on University Boulevard. Residents of Avalon at Telfair will have full access to all amenities available to residents of Telfair. A 400-acre Sugar Land park is adjacent to the community and the University of Houston at Sugar Land Campus is within walking distance.
