San Diego-based Jackson Design & Remodeling earns national recognition for designer Sol Quintana Wagoner in CaesarStone's National Dream Design Contest

SAN DIEGO, CA, October 21, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jackson Design & Remodeling earns national recognition for designer Sol Quintana Wagoner in CaesarStone's National Dream Design Contest, which combed through hundreds of residential and commercial entries to find the 30 most innovative designers using CaesarStone, a versatile quartz countertops surface, in their bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and even furniture designs.

"We literally had hundreds of incredibly stunning entries in the Dream Design Contest," said CaesarStone president Arik Tendler. The 30 winners were chosen for the quality and beauty of their designs by a panel of judges. A broad range of creative uses of CaesarStone were represented in the winning selections, from residential bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms, to commercial applications and even furniture design.

Quintana Wagoner's winning design was for the kitchen of an ultra modern urban home in San Diego that utilized two horizontal masses strategically staggered to create open spaces that are both useful and aesthetically interesting. Organic White CaesarStone was used with a thicker edge to emphasize the horizontal line of the bridge shaped countertop peninsula with a single leg anchored to structure as an architectural feature.

"We used dark mahogany cabinets, Organic White CaesarStone countertops and vibrant textured metallic tiles to create a strong and sophisticated contrast to the monochromatic color palette," said Quintana Wagoner.

"Highly modern and unique hardware, fixtures, and appliances bring the space to life, including gleaming island pendants, a futuristic faucet, and an abstract paneled hood angling out from the wall. From the kitchen, the view into the surrounding spaces is unobstructed and seems to blend in seamlessly, but the easily accessible appliances set in the lower cabinetry complete the successful entertaining area for the modern and sophisticated lifestyle, "said Quintana Wagoner.
